+ Detector construction
--- The technical construction opening (TCO) is being closed now. This involves working inside the cryostat and welding. During welding all the cryostat components, warm and cold, remain off. This will take a few more weeks.
--- Once the TCO is welded closed a crew goes inside to position detector components in their final configuration. The detector is 6x6x6 m in an 8x8x8 m cryostat. Half of the detector is together. The other half is moved out of the way for TCO access from the inside.
--- Beamline components were installed while I was on holiday the last two weeks. So the beamline is taking shape.
+ Networking
--- Working smoothly.
--- We are finishing up the fiber connections to the devices on the cryostat.
+ Operations
--- In the process of configuring a proxy web server in CERN Web Services.
--- Computer monitoring. Giovanna installed prometheus (collection tool). Looking into sending monitoring info using collectd to standard CERN display infrastructure.
