How to get to CERN

From Geneva Airport Cointrain and Airport Railway Station

Regular CERN shuttle service MEYRIN - AIRPORT (link is external)(except Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays)
If the shuttle service has no driver available or outside normal working hours you can request a taxi (link is external). (For professional trips taxi vouchers can be obtained)

For Public Transport, take a free ticket from the machine in the Airport baggage collection hall, on the right side, just before customs control.

If you arrived by train you have to buy a ticket (prize CHF 3.50) at the bus stop.

From Geneva City Railway Station at Cornavin

Take Tram No. 18 → CERN (link is external)

Taxis are available at approximately 48.00 CHF

take the Geneva motorway bypass
Check Traffic regulations and fines in Switzerland (link is external)
you need to buy a motorway sticker, available at all customs points at a cost of 40 CHF, valid for a full calendar year on Swiss motorways

drive as far as the Meyrin exit and then
follow signs for Saint-Genis-Pouilly (France), via Meyrin.
CERN is on the left just before the Swiss-French border.
