Discussion about WP5 contributions to the XLS Annual Meeting in ALBA. We agreed on having the following speakers, with a 10 min. overview talk by each one: Overview of WP5 – F. Nguyen, Undulators Cost Matrix – T. Schmidt, PM Undulators – J. Marcos, SC Undulators – J. Gethmann, Microwave Undulators – L. Zhang, Undulators for Soft X-rays schemes – H. M. C. Cortes, Study of wakefields in undulators – A. Aksoy.
Discussion on the Undulator Cost matrix: the KIT group is maintaining a partnership with its industrial partner on the development of superconducting undulators. This fact requires careful acting where strategic interests could be affected. In this sense, KIT cannot give any own cost estimate for the "fabrication by lab" case and accordingly for similar questions. In any case, the presentations material available within this current INDICO page gives a comprehensive and fair estimate to the WP7 requests and answers to the explicit requests from E. Gazis.
Presentation from A. Aksoy and Z. Nergiz about estimates of the wakefield effects inside undulators, associated to a typical electron beam under study for XLS. These results are really promising.
