An EP-DT Irradiation Facility beyond LS2: GIF++

The High Luminosity upgrade of the LHC accelerator and experiments generated an increasing demand for irradiation tests and the need for dedicated irradiation facilities reaching higher integrated doses and/or particle fluxes. Such facilities are needed to test and validate detectors and electronics for the LHC experiments as well as electronics components and systems to be installed in accelerator radiation areas. After four years of successful operation, the growing demand for experiments (in number and type) and user base have led to a first round of mayor upgrades to the irradiation facilities operated by EP-DT-DD being implemented during the LS2.

This seminar will give a short overview of the irradiation facilities available at CERN, their performance during Run 2 and will then focus on the recent improvements made to the GIF++ facility, giving an outlook for future possibilities.
