Nikhef is easily reachable by train from Amsterdam Schiphol airport (IATA: AMS, ICAO: EHAM) four times an hour on a direct train. The trip takes 30-40 min, and is faster (and more convenent) than taxis. Cost is Eur 4.60 for a pre-paid single eticket, Eur 5.60 for a paper ticket. Taxis cost anywhere from Eur 50,- and upwards (even when using legitimate drivers).
You can also get to Amsterdam by train, especially from Paris (Thalys, 2x per hour), the Cologne/Frankfurt/Karlsruhe direction (ICE, once an hour, twice a day direct from Karlsruhe and Basel), and Berlin (once every 2 hrs or so). Change at Amsterdam Central and take a short 8min hop to the Amsterdam Science Park station.

note that, even if it does not say so, all 'Sprinter' all-station service trains that go via Amsterdam Central do continue to Science Park. These trains leave Schiphol at *:01, *:11, *:31, and *:41). - buy your train ticket on-line (credit cards accepted) from "Schiphol Airport" to "Amsterdam Science Park" - unless you still have your HEPiX ticket of course. Be sure to check for the right date.
