HALF A CENTURY OF HIGH-ENERGY PHYSICS - symposium on the occasion of the honorary doctorate and the 80th birthday of Peter Seyboth

Europe/Warsaw
Jan Kochanowski University Kielce, Poland
Marek Gazdzicki (Johann-Wolfgang-Goethe Univ. (DE)), Stanislaw Mrowczynski (Jan Kochanowski University)
Description

Peter – the master of experimental high energy physics – has pursued his research for more than half a century. This has been a period of a very vivid development of accelerators, detectors and physics ideas. Peter served as the scientific leader of three CERN experiments: NA5, NA35 and NA49. He has greatly contributed to progress in several fields: photo- and multi-particle production, charmonium and jet studies, cosmic-ray, neutrino and, in particular, heavy-ion physics.

The symposium program includes:

October 17 (Thursday), 2019 at 12:00 -  Honorary doctorate award ceremony

(Rectorate, Zeromskiego 5)

October 18 (Friday), 2019 at 10:00 - Session dedicated to Peter Seyboth
