Vacuum thin film coating in the Thin Film and Glass (TFG) lab of EP-DT

Vacuum Thin Film coating is a very advanced technology for industry and research applications. The Thin-Film and Glass (TFG) lab of EP-DT has accumulated over the last 45 (!) years a widespread expertise in this field. Starting with a general overview of the technology and its specific infrastructure, the two following presentations will focus on two ongoing projects of the team:

• R&D and coating campaign for the optical components of the LHCb RICH1 detector upgrade
• Commissioning of the new state of the art boxcoater in the TFG lab (EP-DT investment 2018)

Les couches minces sous vides sont une technologie très avancée, aussi bien pour les applications en industrie, que pour la recherche. Le labo couches minces (et verres, TFG) de EP-DT a accumulé, durant les 45 (!) dernières années, une vaste expertise dans ce domaine. Commençant avec une vue globale de la technologie et de son infrastructure spécifique, les deux présentations suivantes se focaliseront sur les projets en cours de l’équipe :

• Développement et production des couches minces pour les composants optiques de l’upgrade du LHCb RICH1
• Mise en service de la nouvelle installation de pointe « boxcoater » dans le labo TFG (EP-DT investissement 2018)
