The main objective of the hadron collider physics school (HASCO) is to provide an overview of elementary particle physics with particular focus on hadron collider physics at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). This is done via lectures and tutorials on theoretical foundations of the Standard Model of elementary particle physics as well as the modern experimental techniques for testing it. Another focus is placed on statistical data analysis. In line with this, an introduction to the software package ROOT and pp-physics at 13 and 14 TeV will be given. Moreover, students will have the opportunity to discuss state of the art measurements and results with senior scientists in the field.
The school mainly targets Master of Science students. However, advanced Bachelor students or early PhD students are also eligible and welcome to attend. Please contact your local advisor for further details.
We have now updated the school's programme so that you already know what to expect this year.
Additionally, you can now also check out the video for HASCO 2022 here.
