Description

This presentation provides an overview of accelerator physics and technology key issues in high-energy colliders. After a brief presentation of the physics motivation, the challenges for future high-energy collider projects are discussed, focusing on achieving higher energy and luminosity. The presentation covers various proposed projects such as the High-Luminosity LHC (HL-LHC), Future Circular Collider (FCC), International Linear Collider (ILC), Compact Linear Collider (CLIC), and Muon Collider, highlighting their specific technical challenges related to magnet technology, synchrotron radiation, beam-beam effects, accelerating gradient, stored energy, and power consumption. Finally, approaches to improve energy efficiency in these large-scale facilities are examined.
