IThEC (international Thorium Energy Committee, Geneva) in collaboration with CERN and IAEA announce the organization of an international conference on scientific and technical possibilities offered by thorium as an alternative nuclear technology for energy production and for the destruction of nuclear waste. IThEC23 will be held at CERN from 24 to 28 September 2023.

In the last ten years, considerable progress has been made in Thorium research and innovative Thorium technologies are now close to becoming a game changer in the field of carbon-free energy generation as well as recycling and transmutation of spent nuclear fuel. The iThEC23 conference will bring together international experts to present and discuss state-of-the-art and future developments of thorium facilities and enabling technologies, as well as national thorium policies, industrial, environmental and commercial prospects.

ITHEC is a non-profit organization based in Geneva, promoting r&D on the use of thorium for nuclear waste destruction and as a sustainable nuclear energy source, which is both safe and proliferation resistant.
