Travel information

The Rare Pion Decay Workshop will be at the University of California Santa Cruz in Santa Cruz (CA). Address is 1156 High street, Santa Cruz (CA), 95064 U.S. The event will be hybrid both in-person and with remote attendance.

 

Santa Cruz is just over the hill from the Silicon Valley. There are three airports serving the bay area:

- San Jose International Airport: SJC (closest airport to Santa Cruz)

- San Francisco International Airport: SFO

- Oakland International Airport: OAK

From the airport these are the options to reach Santa Cruz

- Rental car at the airport. From SJC is a 40min drive, from SFO is a 1:15h drive and from OAK is a 1:30h drive.

- There are shuttle services that can be booked between airports and SC, shuttle rates vary between 70$ to 100$ one way:

- Public transport is available but discouraged since the travel time is > 3h

Another option (for domestic flights) is the Monterey regional airport: MRY

 

To move around town there are Metro buses https://www.scmtd.com/en/ or Uber/Lyft.

To get to campus is a short drive from downtown Santa Cruz, a parking permit is necessary to park on campus. Parking permits might be organized, additional details will provided in due time.  There are metro buses (18 and 19) going to campus from close to the Mission Inn.
