Description
The ATLAS silicon pixel detector is nearing completion for operation at
the Large Hadron Collider at CERN. The ATLAS pixel detector contains
approximately 80 million channels and 1744 detector modules. Electronics
and module fabrication and testing is complete, as well as
system integration of major elements of the pixel detector.
The overall status of the ATLAS pixel detector will be presented,
emphasizing systems issues and lessons learned in fabricating
this new type of detector for hadron collider experiments.
