How to reach the venue

Perugia is the main city of the italian Region called "Umbria".

Given the abundance of forests and countrysides, Umbria is often called "the Green Heart of Italy".

Perugia airport

The Perugia airport, the San Francesco d'Assisi Airport, provides connections with:

  • London
  • Wien
  • Barcelona
  • Rotterdam
  • Bruxelles
  • Romania (Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca)
  • Malta
  • Tirana
  • other cities in Italy

In case you find a comfortable travel opportunity to reach directly the Airport of Perugia, we'll set up a transfer to the Venue and back. Please contact us directly at asapp2023@lists.infn.it to arrange the transfer.

Nearby airports

The typical international reference airport to reach Perugia is the Leonardo Da Vinci Fiumicino Airport of Rome, about 200 km from the Venue.

Fiumicino to Perugia by car: It takes 2:15 - 2:45 hours, depending on the route, to reach Perugia from Fiumicino by car.

Fiumicino to Perugia by train: Several options are available to reach Perugia Train Station from Fiumicino. Please refer to the national train service for travel schedules. It takes 15 minutes by taxi to reach the conference venue from Perugia Train Station.

We plan to provide a shuttle transfer service to the Venue from the closest main train stations (Terontola and Foligno). Few weeks before the start of the conference we'll provide a list of suggested trains (High Speed) from Rome Airport to organize the transfers matching the train schedules.

Fiumicino to Perugia by bus: the local bus service provides a direct connection from Fiumicino Airport (Terminal 3) or from Roma Tiburtina train station to Perugia city center. Please find the schedule for arrivals (FCO to PG) and departures (PG to FCO). The timetable is in italian, we will provide a summary in english when the summer-time timetable will be available (see below). The bus stop is Perugia, Piazza Partigiani (position). It takes 15 minutes by taxi to reach the conference venue from Perugia, Piazza Partigiani.

Other nearby smaller airports are Ciampino, Ancona and Florence airports. If you plan to travel from those airports, similar solutions than what described above are available. The offered transfer service will be however tuned on trains from Rome, so you may have to wait a bit longer for the shuttle bus connection.
