The S-Bahn station at "Hamburg Airport (Flughafen)" is located in front of the terminals and is easily accessible via lift/escalator/stairs inside the airport building.
Take the S-Bahn at the Airport (line S1, direction Blankenese/Wedel, via Ohlsdorf) to “Othmarschen".
From Othmarschen take Bus 1 (bus stop is in front of the trainstation) to the stop called "Zum Hünengrab/DESY" (direction Rissen/Schenefelder Holt) – approx. 1 hour.

From the airport to the DESY campus (Notkestrasse 85): approx. 25-35 minutes.

If traveling by train, you will either arrive at the main station “Hamburg Hauptbahnhof” or “Hamburg Altona”.
FROM HAMBURG HBF or HAMBURG ALTONA:

Take the S-Bahn train (line S1, direction Blankenese/Wedel) to “Othmarschen”.
From S-Bahn station “Othmarschen” take Bus 1 (bus stop is in front of the station) to stop "Zum Hünengrab/DESY" (direction Rissen/Schenefelder Holt) – approx. 30 min from Hamburg Hauptbahnhof and 26 min from Hamburg Altona.
The trains depart every 10 minutes.
Alternatively, you can also take Bus 2 from Hamburg Altona or the S-Bahn station "Ottensen" in the direction of "Schenefeld, Aneken" to "Luruper Chaussee (DESY)" to access the DESY side entrance.

From Hamburg Altona to DESY campus (Notkestrasse 85): approx. 20 minutes.

Exit the Autobahn (A7) at HH-Bahrenfeld. Arriving in Hamburg from the South: turn left onto the main road (Osdorfer Weg). Arriving in Hamburg from the North: turn right onto the main road (Osdorfer Weg). After approx. 1.5 km, turn right onto Notkestraße. The main entrance of DESY is the second road on the left.
