The PulPoKS workshop is aimed at bringing together the pulsed power and accelerator injection systems communities to
- Improve lines of communication between both new and experienced
Engineers in the field of pulsed power for particle accelerators; - Share knowledge, experience and approaches to doing things;
- Share information about projects etc. which are being working on, including: obsolescence programs, upgrades, large procurements, new designs, R&D projects, etc.;
- Discuss future requirements of the pulsed power community and define what is needed from both universities and manufacturers.
The topics which will be addressed are
- Gas discharge switches and replacements
- Solid state switches and modulators
- Electro-magnetic compatibility (EMC)/noise suppression
- Magnetic materials and beam impedance control
- Stripline kickers for injection and extraction systems
- Reliability, availability and maintenance
- Recent and planned upgrades/replacements (non R&D projects)
- Experience with manufacturers and material availability
- Electrical breakdown and insulation materials.
