Visits to CERN facilities
The STRINGS Conference offers several slots to visit specific facilities at CERN .
Date and time: On Wednesday 5 June, at 17:00
Duration: 1 hour tour
Meeting Point: STRINGS tent (outside of Restaurant 1) at 16:30
ACCESS TO ALL:
- Data Center
- SM18 (superconducting magnets)
- ATLAS visitor center
ACCESS LIMITED: (age +16, no pregnant women, no access to person with reduced mobility)
- AD (antiproton decelerator)
- Linac
Access is limited and a registration is required (an invitation link was sent to all registred participants)
Please note the following important rules that you must apply at all times:
- During the guided tours, closed, flat shoes must be worn.
- Always wear your visitor badge visibly.
- Luggage and large bags are not allowed on guided tours.
- Be aware that CERN is an industrial site with a variety of hazards, including electricity, magnetic fields and ionising radiation.
- Stay with your guide at all times.
- Follow these essential rules for your personal safety
- Avoid touching any object or equipment that you are not familiar with
- Stay alert and be aware of your surroundings
