Description
Beam instrumentation is a diverse field for accelerators, closely linking accelerator physics, electronics and software as well as mechanics and materials.
This lecture will focus on mechanics and materials aspects that are specific to beam instrumentation. It will use a small number of instruments to showcase examples for technology and issues commonly found by the instrumentation engineer.
Coming at the end of the school, it will assume knowledge of fields given in a number of earlier lectures.
