Charmonia at Finite Momentum and Spatial Correlators in Quark-Gluon Plasma

Description

Spatial correlation functions of quarkonia in the quark-gluon plasma are available from finite-temperature lattice-QCD with good precision. However, their interpretation in terms of microscopic spectral functions has been challenging due to numerical oscillations in the Fourier transform and the requirement of a reliable 3-momentum dependence. Utilizing the thermodynamic T-matrix, we first employ a separable-potential to establish a Lorentz-covariant scattering equation in vacuum. Medium effects are then included through state-of-the-art heavy-quark selfenergies, a zero-mode contribution derived from finite-temperature field theory, and a potential screening constrained by euclidean correlators at vanishing momentum. The resulting predictions for the 3-momentum quarkonium spectral functions can qualitatively reproduce the increase of euclidean correlators with 3-momentum, as well as the suppression the spatial correlator ratios, as found in lattice QCD.
