Description

Measurements of charm-hadron production provide a fundamental test of perturbative quantum chromodynamics (pQCD) calculations.
The theoretical framework has been developed based on the QCD factorisation approach, where results from $\mathrm{e}^{+}\mathrm{e}^{-}$ or $\mathrm{e}^{-}$p collision systems were used to tune the calculations.
However, comprehensive investigations of charm-hadron production, such as $\mathrm{D^0}$, $\mathrm{D^+}$, $\mathrm{D_{\mathrm{s}}^+}$ and $\Lambda_{\mathrm{c}}^{+}$, $\Xi_{\mathrm{c}}^{0,+}$ and $\Omega_{\mathrm{c}}^0$, in proton-proton (pp) collisions at the LHC raise the question of whether charm hadronisation is independent of the collision system.
These measurements show enhanced charm baryon-to-meson ratios compared to those observed in leptonic collision systems, indicating that theoretical models need to be modified to describe charm-baryon production in pp collisions.
Strange charm baryons, such as $\Xi_{\mathrm{c}}^{0,+}$ and $\Omega_{\mathrm{c}}^0$, have the potential to provide constraints on hadronisation models, since current calculations do not accurately reproduce the experimental measurements.
To achieve a better understanding of charm hadronisation in pp collisions, various measurements such as studies of charm-baryon production as a function of charged-particle multiplicity, are essential.
Furthermore, improving the precision of current experimental measurements is also crucial in order to provide valuable constraints on theoretical models.

In this contribution, the final results of the measurement of $\Xi_{\mathrm{c}}^{0,+}$-baryon production in different charged-particle multiplicity classes in pp collisions at $\sqrt{\it{s}}$ = 13 TeV, collected with the ALICE detector during LHC Run 2 data-taking period, are presented. In addition, a new measurement of the $\Xi_{\mathrm{c}}^{+}$-baryon production in pp collisions at $\sqrt{\it{s}}$ = 13.6 TeV is presented. In both measurements, the $\Xi_{\mathrm{c}}^{+}$ baryon is reconstructed via its hadronic decay channel, $\Xi_{\mathrm{c}}^{+}\rightarrow\Xi^-\pi^+\pi^+$.
