Description
The LHCb detector provides a unique environment for investigating spin dynamics and hadronization in high-energy collisions owing to its precise vertex reconstruction and advanced particle identification. Studies of baryon polarization in unpolarized proton-nucleus collisions probe how quark spins contribute to the final-state hadron, shedding light on parton spin transfer and fragmentation mechanisms. Charm-baryon polarization measurements are particularly sensitive to heavy-quark spin transfer, while light-baryon polarization explores spin effects in the hadronization of light quarks. This contribution presents recent LHCb measurements of baryon polarization using both fixed-target and collider data, and discusses their impact on our understanding of hadronization mechanisms, spin transfer, and transverse-momentum-dependent fragmentation functions.
