The ALICE experiment is designed to study the quark--gluon plasma (QGP) created in ultrarelativistic heavy-ion collisions. Heavy quarks, like charm and beauty, are produced in primary hard-scattering processes in the early stages of the collisions, and they experience the full space--time evolution of the system. Thus, they are unique probes to study the properties of the QGP. In addition, the ALICE Collaboration has measured the $\Lambda^{+}_{\mathrm{c}}$-baryon production across different collision systems, including pp, p--Pb, and Pb--Pb collisions. These measurements provide valuable input to the study of charm-quark hadronization. Extending this investigation to charm strange baryons such as the $\Xi^{0,+}_{\mathrm{c}}$ offers additional insight into the hadronization mechanism. The larger data samples being collected during Run~3 at the LHC, together with the improved detector resolution as a result of the ALICE upgrade, allow precise measurements of charm–strange hadron production in Pb--Pb collisions.
In this contribution, the final results from the recent measurement of $\Xi_{\mathrm{c}}^{0}$-baryon production in Pb--Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\mathrm{NN}}} = 5.02~\mathrm{TeV}$ are presented. Furthermore, the status of the measurement of $\Xi_{\mathrm{c}}^{+}$-baryon production reconstruction via the hadronic decay channel $\Xi_{\mathrm{c}}^{+} \rightarrow \Xi^{-}\pi^{+}\pi^{+}$ in Pb--Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\mathrm{NN}}} = 5.36~\mathrm{TeV}$ is reported.
