Description
KM3NeT is a Design Study with the primary objective to develop a cost-effective design for a cubic-kilometre sized deep-sea infrastructure to be built in the Mediterranean Sea, housing a neutrino telescope with unprecedented neutrino flux sensitivity at TeV energies. The physics goals and design objectives of the future telescope and the status of the design study, which started in February 2006, will be presented.
