Wednesday afternoon (14:00)
Two options to explore Marseille and its surroundings will be offered, the participants can make their choice during the registration procedure:
Option A: Boat trip to the calanques
Calanques (see Wikipedia) is a natural protected area at the outskirts of Marseille, with the steep cliffs descending into the sea, forming narrow bays ("calanques" in French). A boat tour allows to visit the entire area between Marseille and Cassis in about 3 hours.

Option B: Little train circuit to the Notre Dame de la Garde basilica
The city tour of Marseille in a little train, culminating next to the iconic basilica at the hilltop. The tour takes about 1.5 hours, including a break at the hilltop.

Wednesday evening
Conference dinner at La Nautique (https://www.restaurantlanautique.fr/). Please provide your dietary requirements during registration. The restaurant is located on a floating pier halfway between the conference venue and the metro station Vieux Port.
Thursday evening
Pétanque tournament [to be confirmed]! Everyone is welcome, whether you have never played pétanque before or whether you are an expert. You can check the rules of the game here, the boules (balls) will be provided. We will give a short recap at the beginning and also explain the setup of the tournament.

Meals and coffee breaks
We provide participants with the lunch (buffet / lunch box depending on the day) and coffee breaks during the week, except Tuesday. On Tuesday, an extended lunch break will allow to have lunch outside in nearby restaurants.
