Description
The CMS ME0 GEM detector system will be installed during LHC Long Shutdown 3 to provide muon measurement and trigger capability in the pseudo-rapidity region 2 < |η| < 2.8, extending the existing muon |η| coverage beyond 2.4. We present an overview of the ME0 design and report on test beam and cosmic ray studies of rate capability and time resolution using the latest detector prototypes. We also present the status of chamber production, quality assurance procedures, and system integration
