The organizers aim to make this workshop as sustainable, inclusive, and accessible as possible. Several steps have been taken to achieve this:
-
In-person and virtual participation: In-person interaction is encouraged to foster new connections and stimulate discussions among communities that rarely have opportunities to engage. However, virtual participation is available for attendees and speakers unable or unwilling to travel to the venue.
-
Sustainable travel: CERN's central location in Europe offers convenient access. We encourage in-person participants to adopt the most sustainable transport option available to them, notably to travel by train rather than by plane whenever possible.
-
Code of Conduct: A code of conduct is in place to ensure that the workshop provides a safe, professional, and respectful environment where diversity and inclusion are valued. See the dedicated page.
- Child care: We are committed to facilitate attendance by parents with young children. See the dedicated page for child-care options.
- Meals: The CERN cafeteria offers low-carbon vegetarian and vegan options and minimises disposable material.
- Waste reduction: No merchandise or goodies will be distributed at the workshop.
We recognize that improving the sustainability, inclusivity, and accessibility of scientific meetings is an ongoing effort. We welcome attendees' feedback to help improve on all these aspects.
