Excursion to the Eberbach Monastery

The Eberbach Monastery (Kloster Eberbach) is a former Cistercian abbey founded in 1116 in Eltville in the Rheingau region. The Romanesque and early Gothic complex is considered one of the most significant architectural heritage sites in Germany. The inside of the Monastery was the film location for some of the interior scenes of "The Name of the Rose". A vineyard of about 300 hectares belongs to the Monastery, of which three quarters are planted with Riesling (a white grap variety typical of the Rhine region). For more information about the Monastery you can visit the Eberbach Kloster website

Together with the visit of the Monastery, a wine tasting will be organized during the excursion. For those who would not like to participate to the wine tasting, alternately activities around the Monastery will be organized.

Guided Visit of MAMI and TRIGA

We are trying to organize guided visits to the MAMI electron accelarator and to the TRIGA light water reserach reactor, both located at the JGU Campus. Further details will be published here on a later stage.
