Description
The experimental high energy physics group at the University of Melbourne is a member of the ATLAS, Belle and Belle II collaborations. We maintain a local data centre which enables users to test pre-production code and to do final stage data analysis. Recently the Australian National eResearch Collaboration Tools and Resources (NeCTAR) organisation implemented a Research Cloud based on OpenStack middlewear.
This presentation details the development of an OpenStack-based local data analysis centre compromising hundreds of virtual machines with commensurate data storage.
