Description
Costa Rica is a country known for education, peace, and stability. However, it was not until June 2022 that the country had formal involvement with a major HEP experiment. This talk motivates and contextualizes the building of a group in Costa Rica through a consortium of public universities through the LHCb Experiment. We will cover challenges within the country, as well as external expectations and pressures from the existing global HEP community.
