Description
Recent data seems to indicate that dark energy may not be consistent with a simple cosmological constant. Instead, the combined datasets
show evidence for a dynamical dark energy, with a varying equation of state that crosses the so-called “phantom divide” (w < −1) at low redshifts.
This behavior can not be reproduced with simple quintessence models without evoking exotic kinetic terms or non-minimal coupling.
In this talk we show how the introduction of an interaction between dark energy and dark matter, which arises from well-motivated models, can produce an effective phantom crossing.
