Description

Searches for processes in which baryon number is violated by 2, as would be observed in neutron-antineutron oscillation, have so far come up empty. Many of these searches involve first-generation quarks leaving open the possibility that these processes preferentially couple to initial or final states involving second- and third-generation quarks. We present the results of a search for decays $B^+ \to p \Lambda$, which violates baryon-number by 2. The analysis uses the full data set of about 430 fb$^{-1}$ collected at the $\Upsilon(4{\mathrm{S}})$ resonance by the $BABAR$ experiment, at the $e^+e^-$ collider PEP-II hosted by the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory.
