Description
Proton electromagnetic form factors in the timelike unphysical region ($0 < q^2 < 4M_p^2$) cannot be measured directly but are relevant to dispersion relation analyses and tests of nucleon structure models. We analyze $\bar{p}p \to \gamma \pi^0$ using an effective meson model. A logarithmic momentum-dependent factor motivated by QCD scaling is introduced. The model reproduces available differential cross-section data with $\chi^2/N \approx 1.9$. Through the crossed channel $e^+e^- \to p\bar{p}\pi^0$, we obtain estimates of the magnitude of the proton form factor in the unphysical region. While the extracted bounds are not stringent, they provide reference values for future experiments.
