Description
The one loop background field method for a leading QCD quark-effective action term, a quark-antiquark interaction mediated by nonperturbative one-gluon exchange, is considered to provide vacuum polarization contributions for flavor-dependent quark (effective) interactions. Lagrangian effective quark interactions are obtained either by resolving interactions in form factors or coupling constants in the the long-wavelength limit. Background quark currents are dressed by a gluon cloud leading to the emergence of constituent quark currents. Pion cloud is also obtained dynamically. Quark mass non-degeneracy, i.e. flavor symmetry breaking (FSB), leads to pseudoscalar meson mixing interactions and to quark mixing interactions. Sixth order, $U_A(1)$ breaking, quark effective interactions are also obtained with different Lorentz and flavor structures, among which, interactions with the same shape as the 't Hooft interactions induced by instantons. Some phenomenological consequences are presented.
