Description
We explore the ability of the DUNE experiment to discriminate between competing beyond–standard-model neutrino oscillation scenarios, including neutrino decay, non-standard interactions, quantum decoherence, and violations of the equivalence principle. We show that equivalence-principle violation is typically the most distinguishable scenario at DUNE. We further demonstrate that, even in cases where different scenarios cannot be statistically separated, sizable biases in the reconstructed oscillation parameters, such as the CP-violating phase, may occur.
