Description
The upgraded LHCb detector is now operating at an instantaneous luminosity five times higher than that of Run 2. To handle the increased data rates and more challenging conditions, LHCb has implemented a fully software-based trigger system consisting of two stages. The first stage performs event selection using a fast and simplified reconstruction, while the second stage applies a complete event reconstruction. This architecture enables real-time alignment and calibration immediately after the first trigger stage, ensuring offline-quality detector performance in the second stage. In this presentation, we describe the framework and methodology for real-time alignment of the LHCb detector and highlight key performance results from Run 3 data, including tracking and particle identification performance.
