Conditions for Participation
The programme of the School will be at a level appropriate for PhD students in experimental particle physics. It is anticipated that students working on phenomenology (if not too far from particle-physics experiment) will also be accepted. The School is open to junior post-docs (typically less than two years after completing their PhD), and also to advanced MSc students provided their prior knowledge is comparable with that of the principal target audience so that they can benefit from the courses offered at the School.
Students from countries in the Asia-Pacific region and Europe are particularly invited to apply to the School, but applications from other regions will also be considered.
Guidelines
The application form for the 2026 Asia-Europe-Pacific School of High-Energy Physics should be completed and sent as soon as possible. The application includes a 100-word summary of the student's current work that will be taken into consideration in the selection process.
The submission of the application form must be accompanied in parallel by a letter of reference and ranking from the student's professor or supervisor. Applications without a reference letter will not be considered. The letter should be sent to Kate Ross, the Schools Administrator (physics.school@cern.ch).
Please note that the letter of recommendation from the professor or supervisor should include a ranking of the candidate relative to other students in the HEP community at a similar stage in their careers.
Candidates should ensure that their application form and the letter of reference reach the Schools Administrator by 1 May 2026. Please note we do not contact the supervisors for the reference letters, students must ask their supervisor to send the letter directly to Kate Ross (physics.school@cern.ch).
The selection of the students will be made by members of the International Organizing Committee together with the Local Director. All applicants will be informed in May 2026 whether or not they have been selected.
