Straw bi-weekly meeting
Long prototype:
Vincent - drawings are getting slowly signed, only a few single drawings and all assembly drawings are left
Johan - modification of the HV board was made, the project will remain open with William
- need to review the position of holes on the HV board
Zuzana, Hans - parts to be ordered from Fernando - spacer fixation guards, spacer fixation plates, cone screw
- parts to be made by Tonio & Francois - aluminium cover, support pin modified
Intermediate prototype:
Michal, Peter - already finished scan with Fe55, moving the source along the straws, slow RO on one side, termination board on the other side, normalized to the number of counts
- currently doing HV scan with FE55 source in one place, measuring the amplitudes
Johan - new mirror HV board should be ready soon, two incoming RO boards to be ready in 2 weeks
New projects:
Beth - tracker for PADME - need to measure momentum of electrons in vacuum, need 100um precision on the position (per chamber), need to know the rate to see if straws are a viable option
- magnet bore height 205mm, width 435mm - very short straws
Michal - FCC - straws are considered for Allegro, straws need to be 5m long, currently considering D=1cm
- requirements: momentum resolution O(50GeV) sigma/p ~ 0.2%, transparent detector, 100um space resolution, PID needed (pion/kaon separation) - dN/dx or dE/dx required
