The town of Koprivshtitsa (2935 inhabitants, 1050 metres above sea level) is situated 110 km off the south-east of Sofia, along the two banks and within the upper course of the Topolnitsa River, in the heart of Sashtinska (Real) Sredna Gora Mountain. A town-museum and a unique settlement in Bulgaria, which preserved over 250 patterns of the Revival Period architecture. A cradle of the April Uprising (1876). A tourist centre and a mountain resort.
