Workshop Programme

The LHeC is a new electron-proton and electron-ion collider, under design for synchronous operation with the LHC at CERN in the twenties. With a new 60 GeV electron beam it achieves very high luminosity and extends the Q2, 1/x range of previous DIS experiments by a factor of about 20 in ep and by 5000 in eA scattering.

Following three workshops and design studies over a few years, by the time of this year's workshop on the LHeC, its conceptual design report (CDR) will have become available. The workshop is held to give an overview on the CDR and to discuss the next steps for the project.

The workshop opens on the 14th of June with a plenary session devoted to an overview on the CDR and preview on the next steps. In the afternoon on Thursday and on Friday morning there will be three parallel working groups to discuss:

    i) The accelerator R+D
ii) The physics programme of the LHeC
    iii) The detector design.
The workshop concludes with brief summaries of the parallel sessions and an outlook.

The workshop is open to accelerator, detector and particle physics experts interested in the LHeC. Registration is important for organising the event.
