Format for the articles for the publication in Indian National Science Academy proceedings:

Number of pages for the articles (excluding references) (see sample copy at

Invited speakers:  12 pages

Oral presentation: 8 pages

Poster presentation: 4 pages

Microsoft word format:  The manuscript may be prepared in double spacing on A4 size paper by using word processing software such as MS Word with Times New Roman font (font size 12).  The spellings should be according to Oxford Dictionary.

Latex:  Standard latex text file (font size 12 pt and double spacing) with all
the figures (should be embedded) may be  sent as zipped tar file.

Title, Key Words, Abstract/Summary, Text, Tables, Illustrations:

 The title should reflect the broad area of the paper and should be concise and brief. In case of unavoidable long titles, a short running title may be provided by the author(s).

Six to nine important Key Words may be provided for indexing and for convenient retrieval.  

An abstract containing title, authors’ names and affiliations and a brief summary of the contents of less than 250 words may be supplied on a separate page.

The manuscript may be divided into sections preferably starting with Introduction  and ending with Conclusions followed by Acknowledgements , if any. All tables must be prepared on separate sheets of paper. These may be numbered serially and brief titles in italics may be included on the top of the table.

Non-standard abbreviations may not be included and need to be defined at the bottom of the table, if unavoidable.  Particular attention should be paid to the sharpness of photographs. Care should be taken on the width of the lines and the size of the letters in line diagrams, as the illustrations will be fitted in a single column width of 75 mm. In exceptional cases, the width can be 150 mm.

References :

References in the text should be cited by numbers in square brackets. Complete references as per style given below should be provided on separate sheets at the end of the manuscripts.

The Volume numbers should be in bold and the year of publication may be typed in brackets. References to the thesis must include author’s name, title of the thesis (in Italics), the title of the degree for  which submitted, the name of the  University and the place, the year  in brackets and numbers of page(s) cited.
