Description
The Joint Research Centre (JRC) is the scientific and technical arm of the European Commission. It is providing the scientific advice and technical know-how to support a wide range of European Union policies. CERN is the world’s largest particle physics laboratory. It builds and operates a network of accelerators and provides the infrastructure used by numerous high-energy physics experiments constructed at CERN by international collaborations. The purpose of the workshop is to increase the knowledge and reciprocal understanding between the two organisations about their technological expertise and scientific activities. The workshop aims at allowing scientists from both laboratories to present and discuss their respective activities in selected technological and scientific domains of common interest. The ultimate goal is to identify possible collaborations in terms of new projects, contributions to the other lab’s projects and/or technological knowledge exchange.
