I suggest you stay near the train station, because the bus stop for the airport is next to it as is the bus to reach CNAF (even if you don't really need it). Also, any other Hotel close to "Via Indipendenza" is good for reaching CNAF, as well as for sightseeing and nightlife.

INFN-CNAF can be easily reached from Bologna's train station.Quattor Workshop will be held in CNAF's "second building".

Transport
Walking is the easiest way to reach CNAF (and the most interesting monuments in Bologna), however if you want you can take bus n.32 immediately out of the Mercure Hotel and get off at Tranchina stop (2 stops). The website for Bologna's public transport is: www.atc.bo.itTo get to the centre of the town from the airport you can either take a taxi, the fare will probably be around 10 euros, or the bus, that will drop you directly next to the train station (www.atc.bo.it/CMS_Software/XMLEngine.asp)
