(Minutes written by N. Neufeld - they reflect my personal recollection).
After an introduction by David, 4 x 15' presentation were given in alphabetical order of the
experiments. Discussions during and after the presentations were lively. At the end the question was brought up what the audience thought of this kind of meeting and if/how they should continue.
In general there was consensus that these kind of informal meetings are very useful. However many people felt that after this plenary kick-start meeting, more ad-hoc meetings on specialised topics were in order.
Among others the following topics seemed to be particularly interesting for all experiments (in no particular order):
*) Purchasing strategies for the event filter farms
*) Online data-bases
*) Networking / in particular experience and operation of the standard items from the IT framecontracts: HP3400 and Force10 E1200
*) Network Security and management: remote access / CNIC, Quattor and CMF
To facilitate collaboration on topics, it was suggested to make lists of relevenat people (with their fields of expertise) available. A common mailing list could also be useful.
The meeting ended around 18:00.
