Description

The Photon Spectrometer of the ALICE experiment, PHOS, has performed extensive measurements of neutral meson production in proton-proton collisions at the energies of 0.9, 2.76 and 7 TeV. Inclusive spectra of pi0 and eta mesons were measured in mid-rapidity in a wide transverse momentum range. Dependence of the pi0 spectrum on event multiplicity has been also studied. Comparison with pQCD calculations allows to constrain the model parameters. Phenomenology of pi0 production versus collision energy will be discussed. Perspectives on the neutral meson measurements in pp collisions at high pT will be demonstrated.
