Description

The ATLAS muon reconstruction has been improved for the Run-II of the LHC. In this presentation, we will discuss the new reconstruction algorithm and its performance as measured during the early run of the LHC in 2015 at sqrt(s)= 13 TeV using samples of J/ψ→μμ and Z→μμ decays. Reconstruction efficiency, transverse momentum resolution and momentum scales are measured in the various regions of the detector and for muon momenta between 5 and hundreds of GeV.
