Description
This tutorial will introduce the latest deep learning software packages and explain how to get started using deep neural networks. We will train deep neural networks using the Theano and Pylearn2 software packages in Python, and then replicate results from Baldi et. al. 2014, Searching for exotic particles in high-energy physics with deep learning. We will also discuss techniques for model selection and automatic hyperparameter tuning.
NOTE: In order to run the examples yourself, please install Theano on your system prior to arrival, and then download pylearn2 from github and put it in your python path.
