Description
EOSCpilot is a two-years project started in the wider context of the European Open Science Cloud initiative, of which it supports the first phase of the development. It will do so by resolving Technical, Cultural and Scientific challenges with stakeholders.
The EOSCpilot project’s objectives are to:
-
establish the governance framework for the EOSC and contribute to the
development of European open science policy and best practice; -
develop a number of demonstrators functioning as high-profile pilots
that integrate services and infrastructures to show interoperability
and its benefits in a number of scientific domains; and - engage with a broad range of stakeholders, crossing borders and communities, to build the trust and skills required for adoption of an open approach
to scientific research.
EOSCpilot is supporting the creation of a trusted and open environment for the European research and scientific community to access, share, store and re-use scientific data, and will develop a pan-European trusted virtual environment with free, open and seamless services for data storage, management, analysis, sharing and re-use, across disciplines, thus reducing fragmentation and improving interoperability.
Behind the EOSCpilot there’s a consortium of 33 partners of pan-European organisations, and 15 third parties from a broad range of disciplines.
