Description

The ATLAS TDAQ System will be composed of 3000 processors with a few processes per processor. The Process Manager component of the TDAQ software is responsible for launching and controlling these processes. The main requirements are for robustness, availability and recoverability of the system, as well as the possibiity of full launch, control and monitoring of the TDAQ processes. This paper will present the unique choices made during the recent redesign of this component in order to fulfill all requirements and especially recently added ones. The measurements of its performance and the analysis of its robustness and reliability will also be presented and shown to be compatible with requirements of the experiment.
