Description
Siemens is gradually moving towards replacing the legacy SIMATIC software suite with the new TIA Portal software package. This is a fully reworked software and it is intended to provide a lot more flexibility, reliability and user-friendliness for all the Siemens PLC users in future. TIA Portal comes with so called Openness feature which provides engineers with the means to externally interact with TIA Portal. In this presentation we will look into the details of this feature and how it can be used in future development of PLC code (automatic code generation, compiling, uploading/downloading, etc.).
