Description
The aim of this presentation is to show how it is possible to realize high
reflectivity mirrors for optical cavities having very low optical losses. After a
description of the deposition technique used, all types of loss will be listed
(Transmission, absorption, scattering..). Their main origins are described and some
solutions are proposed to minimize their level. The importance of the cleanliness, when these mirrors are used in cavities, will be emphasized.
