Description

The Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE) is a leading-edge, international experiment for neutrino science and proton decay studies. This lecture will explain the Physics motivations of this Experiment as well as its organization and the long baseline construction in the USA, from FermiLab to the Sanford Underground Research Facility 1300 kms away.
This lecture will be followed by two lectures that will describe the important R&D and tests facilities set up at CERN (WA105) and at Fermilab.
